CBD is currently very popular due to its benefits in sleep management, depression, anxiety, cancer and other pain management. Cannabidiol has been shortened as CBD, the compound is found majorly in the hemp plant.
In December 2016 the MHRA released a statement to 18 companies declaring the legal status of CBD products, mainly they focused on the fact that CBD products should not make medicinal claims unless it has been registered as a medicinal product.
This means that if CBD products are being sold as a food supplement to people from the age of 18, it is ok however where websites and products begin to make medicinal claims and state benefits of the CBD, this could be seen as illegal.
